People in Peril Association invites for the 11th edition of The International Documentary Film Festival One World - Movies without cover, heroes without masks. In 2009, more than 14,750 viewers attended the festival, including 3,800 pupils and students of elementary and high schools.

The One World Festival is the biggest cultural and educational event in Slovakia dealing with human rights and global topics in a complex way. Annualy, the festival presents around 60 - 70 documentaries, mainly of foreign origin, more than 10 debates on current topics, photo exhibitions and concerts.

In the movies divided in 8 thematic categories, they will tell unbelievable, yet absolutely true stories, which will give you goose bumps, make you drop a tear or open your eyes wide in disbelief over the absurdity of the portrayed injustice. Unlike the retouched and artificially improved heroes, the movies will present their stories without a cover. They bring the memory of something, which cannot afford to “wear” anything; something without a massive advertisement campaign. Something, which in the end doesn’t need any adornments.

Beside the main event in Bratislava, annualy the viewers have a chance to see chosen documentaries also in other towns and cities all around Slovakia. For the year 2010/2011 there will be 15 regional festivals in Slovakia:

23.-25.11.2010 Nitra * 24.-26.11.2010 Prešov * 25.-27.11.2010 Banská Štiavnica * 25.-27.11.2010 Spišská Nová Ves * 29.11.-1.12.2010 Ružomberok * 29.11.- 2.12.2010 Trnava * 3.-4.12.2010 Brezová pod Bradlom * 3.-4.12.2010 Pezinok * 4.-5.12.2010 Modra * 7.-8.12.2010 Zvolen * 8.-11.12.2010 Košice * 10.-11.12.2010 Púchov * 16.-19.12.2010 Bardejov * 27.-30.12.2010 Stropkov * 26.-30.1.2011 Žilina
